“Technique Tip Reminders” Cara shares what she considers to be some of the best tips on vocal technique.

Cara Mastrey began teaching in Ireland. Many singers after watching her perform, would come up and ask how she got such great power from such a little body. (She’s only 5'2" 100 pounds and can belt out like a man). When Cara began singing in the early 80's, she didn't want to be a wimpy female singer. “I wanted to sing hard rock and belt out like the other 80's rockers of the time”. The competition was fierce so she began taking classes from all the best vocal coaches in L.A., Ron Anderson and Elizabeth Sabine among others, in order that would be able to gain the proper breath control and power she needed to sing with her powerful band at the time. “I've never lost my voice since, and have never had any problems with my voice since!” Since that time, she has been able to share my knowledge and experience with hundreds of singers. In the last 15 years, Cara has been teaching starting in Ireland and in Minneapolis Minnesota, where she now resides and teaches to beginners, professionals, old and young, of all styles.
